Article Summary

Google Search Console lets you know what searches users who find you organically on Google perform. Here there will also be notification of any errors and tips for improvements that can improve the organic ranking of the online store. This tool is central to monitoring the impact of your search engine optimization (SEO) efforts.

Here's how to set it up:

  1. Create account on Google Search Console
  2. Log in to the control panel of Mystore
  3. Select Configuration
  4. Select Google
  5. Install Google Webmaster Tools verification
  6. Sign in to Google Search Console
  7. Select URL prefix as the property type (see screenshot below)

  8. Enter your URL
  9. If you have previously verified other Google accounts, approval of the verification will be automatic, if this does not happen, select the HTML tag as the verification method and copy out the code between the quotation marks (see screenshot below).

  10. Log in to the control panel at Mystore and enter the code in Meta Tag Content in Google Webmaster Tools verification.

Please note that your online store must be open and made available to search engines before you set up Google Search Console.

If you have trouble verifying the HTML tag (steps 9 and 10), you can also enter the entire code snippet (not just the one with the quotation marks) in the Extra Header.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Log in to the control panel at Mystore
  2. Select Configuration
  3. Select Text on Pages and Extra Header
  4. Post Meta-Tag
  5. Click Save
